Frequently Asked Questions
What is psychotherapy and what does that look like in practice?
Holistic Psychotherapy is the process of taking into consideration the balance of many different aspects of your life, rather than looking solely at the symptom.
It is the exploration of the unconscious processes and conditioning that influence and guide your thoughts, interactions, and beliefs about the world. In therapy, it means we’ll pay special gentle attention to the stuff that’s hard to acknowledge. The deeper stuff. Through the therapeutic process, you’ll come into a new kind of knowing and discovery of your authentic self. The knowing that comes from seeing the deepest parts of yourself.
Who can work with you?'
At this time, my therapy license is valid and active in New Jersey, and I can only provide therapy to NJ residents. If you’re not a NJ resident, I invite you to explore my coaching services.
What does working with you actually look like?
I serve not as an expert or someone with all the answers, but as a collaborative guide who values and deeply respects who my clients are and the wisdom they already have within. I believe that you already have all of the inner wisdom necessary to navigate your healing journey, and that you are truly your own expert.
I view it as my duty to help you access these tools by releasing all of the things that don’t serve you. By serving as both a companion and a guide, I will support your ability to begin recognizing your innermost voice; the voice that truly knows the way. Through this process you will connect to your deepest self, and will ultimately find the healing you are seeking.
What can I expect in my first session?
Your first session is an opportunity for me to form an understanding of who you are, what some of your concerns might be, and of what life has been like for you as of recently. It’s also an opportunity for you to get to know me and my working style. It’s important to feel like your therapist is a good fit for you, so there will be plenty of time for you to ask me questions, too!
Does something have to be wrong in order for me to benefit from therapy?
Definitely not! I specialize in working with people who want to “go deeper.” Deeper into understanding who they are, deeper into understanding the world around them, and deeper into understanding why they are the way they are. Sometimes this feels more like something is “missing,” rather than something that is “wrong.” I'm an advocate for mental health, I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy. A therapist is simply an unbiased sounding board to help you sift through the inner workings of your mind & figure it all out.
Do you take insurance?
At this time, I am not in network with any insurance companies or plans. I am out of network. We can have an exploration call to discuss payments and working together.
How much is each session and how do I pay?
Sessions can vary depending on your need, and the type of support being sought. Payment is accepted in the form of credit, debit or HSA card via Square. I also offer bundling packages for sessions. To schedule a free exploration call, click here or email me here
What kind of commitment do I need to make?
The inward journey is a deep process that takes both time and tenderness, and requires a bond to emerge between you and me as a guide in your life. With that said, I understand life happens, and you may need to cancel an appointment. No worries! The cancellation policy will be included with your initial paperwork and consent form.
